Digital Radiography

Digital Radiography Solutions

Digital Radiography Solutions provides your clinic with clear images in seconds, eliminating the need for film, chemicals, or a darkroom. Veridian Imaging Solutions offers digital radiography systems, professional installation, calibration, and support for clinics throughout Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland. We help you choose equipment that fits your room, your work, and your budget. After installation, we continue to provide the support you need to keep your system running smoothly.

What Is Digital Radiography?

Digital radiography is an X-ray imaging technique that uses an electronic detector instead of traditional film. The detector captures X-ray data and converts it into a digital image, which is instantly sent to a computer for immediate review by medical staff.

This technology is often referred to as DR. This technology usually has four parts working together:

An X-ray source, or generator, that produces the exposure.
A flat panel detector, either wireless or tethered, that captures the image.
An acquisition workstation and console where staff run the exam.
Imaging software that displays, adjusts, and stores digital radiographs.

Since the image appears immediately on the screen, medical staff can review positioning before the patient leaves the room. This reduces the need for repeat exposures and speeds up the path from examination to diagnosis.

Digital Radiography vs Computed Radiography

Many clinics still use Computed Radiography, or CR. While both technologies can produce digital images, they do so in different ways.

Computed radiography uses a cassette with an imaging plate. After the X-ray exposure, the staff takes the cassette to a separate reader that scans the imaging plate and produces a digital image. This technology works, but it also adds handling time to every exam.

Direct radiography systems completely remove the reader step, which is where clinics and medical staff normally notice the biggest improvement in the daily workflow.

If your clinic runs a CR or film system, you may not need to replace the whole room. A DR retrofit allows clinics to upgrade their existing X-ray equipment by adding a modern DR detector panel instead of replacing the entire system. This keeps both cost and downtime lower than a full replacement.

Digital Radiography Solutions We Supply

Veridian works with trusted and reliable imaging vendors and equipment partners, which is why we are not limited to a single product line. That allows us to provide the right system for your room instead of forcing your room to fit one manufacturer’s equipment. Systems are available for a wide range of room sizes and budgets, from a single upgraded panel through to a complete room.

Digital radiography systems

Complete digital X-ray systems for new rooms, including the generator, stand or table, and detector, are specified around the exams you perform.

DR panels and detectors

Wireless, tethered, and fixed flat panel detectors in a wide range of sizes. Wireless panels move between rooms and stands. Tethered panels need no charging and stay in one place.

Long length and full spine panels

Long panels capture the full spine or a long limb in a single exposure, instead of stitching several images together. For chiropractic clinics, this often makes the difference between a system that fits the practice and one that doesn't.

Mobile and portable systems

Where imaging needs to be performed at the patient's location or where space is limited, a mobile or portable digital radiography unit may be a better choice than a fixed room.

Acquisition workstations and imaging software

The workstation and control system where your team runs each X-ray exam. It is set up with your protocols, so the software matches your staff's work, with image processing tools suited to the exams you perform.

Complete room packages

Where needed, we provide digital radiography equipment for a room as a single package, ensuring all components work together from the start.

Accessories and supplies

We also supply positioning aids, X-ray markers, protective apparel, and the everyday consumables your imaging room needs, so you don't have to source them separately.

Digital Radiography for Your Type of Practice

The right configuration depends more on the exams you run than on the equipment brand.

Chiropractic clinics

Full spine and long-length imaging, usually on a wall stand, where a long panel avoids stitching multiple exposures together.

Podiatry offices

Weight-bearing foot and ankle views, where a compact system and a smaller panel suit the room better.

Urgent care centers

General extremity and chest exams at volume, where fast preview and quick turnaround matter most.

Occupational health facilities

Routine screening exams in steady volume, where consistency and workflow are the priority.

Veterinary hospitals

Table-based systems with a connected tube stand and software set up for animal patients.

Support From Installation to Ongoing Service

Buying the equipment is the easy part. But a system’s performance depends on more than just the equipment. It’s everything that supports it.

Installation and calibration

We install the system, calibrate the detector to manufacturer specifications, verify geometry, and run image quality checks before your team goes live.

PACS setup and integration

We handle PACS and DICOM setup and integration with your existing systems, including AE title configuration, viewer access, and a documented handoff to your IT contact.

Staff training and handoff

We train your team on the workstation and imaging software, and leave documentation behind so new staff can be brought up to speed later.

Ongoing service

Service plans cover preventive maintenance and support on an agreed schedule, which helps reduce avoidable downtime.

Frequently Asked Questions

01. What is digital radiography?
It is X-ray imaging that uses an electronic detector instead of film. The image appears on a computer screen within seconds of exposure.
02. What is the difference between digital radiography and computed radiography?
Computed radiography uses a cassette that has to be carried to a separate reader. Direct digital radiography sends the image straight to the workstation.
03. Do we have to replace our whole X-ray room to go digital?
Often no. A DR retrofit fits a digital panel to much of your existing equipment, which usually keeps cost and downtime lower.
04. Can a digital radiography system capture the full spine in one image?
Yes. A long panel captures the full spine in a single exposure, which suits chiropractic clinics in particular.
05. Which areas do you serve?
Delaware, southeastern Pennsylvania, southwestern New Jersey, and northeastern Maryland, from our base in Claymont, Delaware.
