This bolster is built for the length of the body, not a single joint. Lay it along the back to hold a patient in a lateral position, or set it under the torso to raise one side into an oblique position for a spinal study. The 21-inch length spreads support from the shoulder to the hip, so the tilt stays even, and the patient does not sink into a gap. Because the foam and vinyl carry no metal, it is verified MR Safe and goes straight into the MRI suite. The vinyl also carries over to X-ray and CT, though the sewn seams can show up on an X-ray. For a version that stays fully clear on an X-ray, the closed-cell spinal wedge gives you the same 45-degree angle in non-coated foam. For a single joint rather than the whole back, the 45-degree wedge sponge drops to a 7-inch block.

Cleaning and Care
Wipe the vinyl down with your standard surface disinfectant between patients. Because the cover is non-porous and the seams are sewn shut, fluid stays on top, and the foam underneath stays dry. Skip harsh solvents, which shorten the life of the vinyl, and store the bolster flat with the rest of your positioning sponges so the wedge keeps its shape.
